Priscilla Middleton (formerly Braybrook) is a qualified City and Guilds accredited tutor and accomplished artist. She is a professional associate member of the Society of All Artists, and a recognised International tutor.
Patchings Art Centre in Calverton, Nottinghamshire, one of the highest acclaimed centres in the world for the Arts, asked Priscilla to tutor an evening Chinese Brush painting landscape course, which many of her students enjoyed, enhancing their art skills. Some of Priscilla's paintings of flowers, birds and fish were accepted in five Patchings Awards between 1998 and 2003.
As founder member of the Bamboo Academy of Chinese Painting and Arts Ltd, a registered national charity, Priscilla was delighted to launch the Academy from Patchings, and is endebted to all patrons, members and supporters, particularly the proprietors of Patchings, Liz and Chas Wood.
In 2009, she was invited and commissioned by the Society of All Artists to instruct their 44,000 members, globally in Chinese brush painting and Chinese gongbei drawing, over a 6 month period. This was a dream come true for Priscilla: to tutor in the painting magazine and to share her talent with such a vast audience. Invitations from all over the world arrived, from many destinations that Priscilla had already visited since the 1950s. Many new friendships were formed and people were very interested in her ability to depict nature from life, fish being her forte.
Unusually, Priscilla paints in multi-disciplinary subjects and is tireless in her ambition. To put in a succinct way: she just loves to share her passion for art.
Priscilla has organised and been part of 70 exhibitions to promote Chinese arts and culture. Her paintings can be found in private collections both in this country and around the world.
Priscilla now lives in Lincolnshire. She is quick to point out that, with the support of her husband and her many friends, new and old, her life is immensely enjoyable, and she has a complete passion and joy for life.
